and built specifically for use in Birkenhead Docks, this fleet of 10
0-6-0 Hudswell Clarke 204hp locos closely resemble the pre-war Hudswell
loco built for the LMS, but incorporate some detail differences. Never
the less this fleet are very much like a steam loco is appearance. Under
the National Traction Plan, which saw the rationalisation of the many
shunting fleets of the 1950s, this class were doomed and all were withdrawn
in 1967. Three of the class are seen at Birkenhead in on August 29,
