After working the 'Torbay Express' on Sunday 2 September, Class 37s Nos. 37410 and 37417 piloted by Class 67 No. 67016 formed train 6M33 from Avonmouth to Wembley on Monday 3 September 2007, before heading north to Warrington. In fading light the triple header is seen passing Lower Basilden on the GW main line.

One of the infrequent MoD flask moves from MoD Devonport Dockyard (Keyham) to Crewe/Sellafield operated on Thursday 6 September 2007 when DRS Class 66/4 No. 66412 powered twin-bogie flask wagon KUA MODA95771 as 6X73 10.00 Keyham (Devonport Dockyard) - Crewe. The train is seen rounding the curve at Langstone Rock between Dawlish and Dawlish Warren.

East Lancs Railway-based Class 40 No. 40145, now sporting 'large-logo' livery, powered the Banbury-Kingswear and return Pathfinder Tours charter on 8 September 2007. The returning train is seen passing Sugar Loaf Summit between Churston and Goodrington on the TDR.

The Railway Touring Company operated 'The Hadrian Railtour' from Nottingham to Carlisle on 8 September 2007, arriving in Carlisle 10 minutes early, powered by LMS Coronation Class 4-6-2 No. 6233 Duchess of Sutherland. The train carried The Royal Scot headboard, and is seen approaching Carlisle station.

Class 60 No. 60007 is one of only two members of its class retaining Loadhaul black and orange livery, albeit with the yellow EWS stickers over the original logo. On 7 September 2007, loco is seen at Banker's Bridge, Aston Fields as it begins its ascent of the Lickey Incline with the 11.22 Westerleigh to Lindsey empty oil tanks.

The second batch of new DRS Class 66s was transferred from ABP Newport to DRS Carlisle on 11 September for commissioning. The four locos Nos. 66421, 66424, 66425 and 66426 were hauled by No. 66412. The amazing view of five DRS Class 66s was captured passing Undy near Newport.

We turn the clock back 40 years today to 17 September 1967, when ex Great Western 'Castle' No. 7029 Clun Castle operated an Ian Allan special from London King's Cross to Leeds. The loco is seen awaiting departure from London King's Cross.

Phil Swallow, owner of 'Taw Valley', celebrated his 50th birthday in fine style, with a steam/diesel charter from Victoria to Kidderminster and return on 14 September 2007. , D1015 Western Champion speeds north past Homedown Crossing, Gloucestershire, with 'Phil's 50th Birthday Bash' charter, hauling the VSOE stock. The Newton Heath "Community Open Day" on Sunday 16 September 2007 found the first Class 153 "Bubble Car" painted in Northern Rail house colours. The set, No. 153317 was parked in the depot yard and is an ex Arriva Trains Northern vehicle.

The Editor was shocked to find three ex-Southern Pacific-liveried locos formed in one train on 20 September 2007. Led by Union Pacific SD60 No. 2281, the train is seen at Mojave with SP-liveried (UP patched) No. 2713 and 2720, with un-patched SP No. 8613 coupled behind.

Love it or hate it, this is the new livery of Colas Rail (formed through the partnership of Seco Rail and Amec Spie Rail). Two Class 47s Nos. 47727 Rebecca and 47749 Demelza were unveiled to the rail media at Eastleigh Works on 20 September. The pair, with the RHTT train, (which is booked to work in Devon and Cornwall) are seen at Eastleigh on 21 September working a test train from Eastleigh to Eastleigh via Basingstoke and Andover.

Over the weekend of 22-23 September 2007, the Mid Norfolk Railway held a Diesel Gala. The well patronised event saw the lines blue and gray liveried mk2 passenger rake powered by DRS Class 37 No. 37688, which visited the lie specially for the event. the loco is seen on 22 September passing Wicklewood.
